Schools across Rotherham get ready for the BIG Bop
SAFE@LAST is calling on the people of Rotherham to put on their dancing shoes and join them for the BIG Bop event. The BIG Bop will be held on Friday 16th July at 2.15pm and SAFE@LAST are asking people across the town to step outside their school or work place and dance to the hit song Cha Cha Slide.
Those taking part are asked to wear a T-shirt designed by young people of Thrybergh School and Sports College which costs £2 and acts as a ticket to take part in the fun.
SAFE@LAST Runaways Education Officer Katie Eastburn said: “We need as many people as possible to get together with other pupils, workmates, family and friends to step outside and listen in to RotherFM who will play the track live. We hope that each participant will be sponsored to take part in the Big Bop and aim to raise a minimum of £5 sponsorship to support SAFE@LAST’s work with vulnerably young people.
The idea for the event came about through SAFE@LAST’s work with young people at Thrybergh School and Sports College and has been designed by vulnerable young people to support other vulnerable young people. The event has been organised in partnership with RotherFed, who supports all of the town’s tennants and residents’ associations.
