Children’s TV presenter and entertainer, Dave Benson Phillips, needs 1000 people for a record-breaking event on Saturday 18th June 2011, 12 noon, at The Magna Science Adventure Centre.

Dave is most commonly associated with the cult CBBC gunge gameshow, Get Your Own Back!  The show gave children the chance to ‘gunge’ a grown-up that got on their nerves, but not before putting the hapless adult through some silly and humiliating games.

With his love of gunge Dave is bringing The World’s Largest Gunge Fight to Rotherham as part of Rotherham’s Children’s Festival.  The current record for a gunge fight is 500 people throwing gunge at each other for 2 minutes and thirty seconds.  Dave hopes to beat this and so is looking for 1000 people of all ages to take part. All they’ve got to do is to turn up, preferably in clothes they don’t care too much about, and throw gunge at each other for 5 minutes.

The cost to take part is £3.00 per person. All proceeds from this event will go to local children’s charity SAFE@LAST that works with young people in South Yorkshire who are at risk through running away.
