SAFE@LAST Celebrates Volunteers Week

Volunteers’ Week is an annual event 1 – 7 June which celebrates the fantastic contribution that millions of volunteers make across the UK. The Week plays a huge part in raising the profile of the millions of volunteers who regularly contribute to society, while inspiring others to get involved too.
SAFE@LAST is celebrating Volunteers’ Week in a variety of ways and we hope to:
encourage our existing volunteers to get involved with activities
promote our volunteering opportunities to new volunteers in this
region
celebrate and recognise the contribution made by our volunteers
SAFE@LAST is planning a varied programme this year to mark Volunteers’ Week. As a child protection charity that engages volunteers in helping to provide our services to support vulnerable young runaways, through to assisting at fundraising events and with our PR, we couldn’t do all the great things we do without them.
We are sure there will be something on our exciting programme that will appeal to both existing and new volunteers. We are also delighted to be working in partnership with Voluntary Action in Rotherham and Sheffield.
We know from the findings of our Volunteer Survey that was carried out earlier in the year, that one of the reasons many of people volunteer for SAFE@LAST is to meet new people and to learn new skills – what better way to do all this and more than by joining us with our exciting events?! We are also setting you a little challenge to do some PR to support the vulnerable young people we work with – please ‘spread the word’. |
