Gervase Phinn

Everyone at SAFE@LAST was delighted when author and educator Gervase agreed to become a patron of the charity. After a career as a teacher he became a schools OFSTED inspector and, latterly, Visiting Professor of Education at the University of Teeside.

Gervase has published many books, some autobiographical, collections of poetry and a number of books about education. He has a particular interest in children's literature and literacy and is widely known as a lively and entertaining speaker. He will hold any audience entranced and delighted with tales and stories from schools, especially those in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales where he was an Inspector.

His very evident and deep understanding of the needs of all children makes him an ideal patron for SAFE@LAST.
