SAFE@LAST benefits from the
Rotherham Real Ale and Music Festival

The last beer has been slurped, the final ticket counted; and organisers of the Rotherham Real Ale and Music festival have donated the surplus from this years event to local good causes... giving away a record-breaking total of £35,000 or which £7,000 has been donated to SAFE@LAST.
The impressive figure was raised in just four days by visitors to the Rotherham Real Ale and Music festival, proving once again that it continues to be the biggest event of its kind in the North of England.
Earlier in the year over 10,000 visitors packed into Magna to celebrate the White Rose Festival, which saw 230 real ales from Britain’s White Rose counties come together for the first time.
Hoppy bears from Hampshire to casks from Cumbria, along with Porters, Stouts and ales of every kind imaginable from the four corners of Yorkshire, proved to be a winning combination with thirsty visitors managed to drink over 85,000 half-pint glasses of real ale, along with a whole range of ciders, parries, wines and foreign beers – sold across bars which spanned well over a quarter of a mile in total.
It is the largest amount of money that the Rotherham Real Ale and Music festival has ever generated, and festival organiser Stephen Burns presented a cheque for £7,000 to each of the five benefiting charities. SAFE@LAST is thrilled to have received this donation and we’re looking forward to continuing to work with the Rotherham Real Ale and Music Festival for many year to come.
The next Festival – Baa’s of Steel, is set to take place between 29th Feb – 3rd March 2012. The festival will once again be hosted at Magna, and bring together a varied selection of real ales that can be found in the steel producing counties and regions of the UK. Tickets for the 2012 event are now on sale via the website, which can also be used to obtain further details about how to volunteer for the 2012 festival or sponsorship packages currently available at the festival, visit: www.magnarealale.co.uk
