Volunteering Questions and Answers

Who can volunteer for SAFE@LAST ?

Anyone.  We welcome everyone who would like to volunteer and with a wide range of roles available we are sure to have something to suit you.  People under 18 may be restricted in the roles they can do, please get in touch with us for more information.  All volunteers will be subject to a CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) and reference check.

Why should I volunteer with SAFE@LAST?

Volunteering is a great way to gain confidence, learn new skills, meet new people, give something back and make a difference.  Employers and further education institutions are becoming more and more interested in the whole package of a potential employee or student and not just their qualifications.  Volunteering is a great way to enhance your CV.

What will I be expected to do?

We have a range of volunteering roles available and are sure to have something that will suit your skills, passions and availability.  Please get in touch with us so we can discuss this further.

 

What training will I receive?

SAFE@LAST provides full training for all our volunteers to enable them to carry out their roles.  Ongoing training, in and out of house is also available.

 

What support will I receive?

The Volunteer team provides ongoing support to all our volunteers.  The level of support provided is tailored to suit individual volunteers and their roles and will be delivered in an appropriate way whether that is a face to face discussion, a chat over the phone etc.  If you want to speak to us about anything please get in touch.

 

Will it cost me anything?

All travel and out of pocket expenses incurred as a result of your volunteering role will be reimbursed.  Just keep all your receipts.

Can I volunteer if I have a disability?

Of course – we aim to make our volunteering roles accessible to everyone and will always do our best to accommodate any special requirements.  Please get in touch so we can discuss this further.
